One of our Seattle Promotional Management values is recognition, and one way we show this is to put a team member in the spotlight each month just for being them. This month, we are giving Syamber, our assistant territory manager, a chance to share some of her career journey thus far.
Syamber started at the beginning, saying, “I was born and raised in Pasadena, California, and I have a degree in kinesiology from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. I started with Seattle Promotional Management late November 2018.”
She then went on to share some of her long-term goals with us, declaring, “First and foremost, I want to pay off my student loans and be able to support my mother financially. I especially look forward to helping her renovate her home. I also want to travel to my top three destinations of Thailand, Greece, and Dubai. Lastly, I want to be able to buy a house in the Atlanta area – I really love the environment there.”
When we asked her what traits she thought have most contributed to her success, Syamber noted that resilience is one of her strengths. “When things knock you down, you have to get back up. I definitely didn’t go to school to be a kinesiology major, for example. I wanted to be a nurse. But I realized that wasn’t for me, so I found a new way to get my degree done. Everyone hits roadblocks, but I’ve learned to fail forward and use those experiences as fuel to propel me forward.”
Syamber has learned a lot about herself in her time with us, getting clear on what drives her. She was surprised to discover how much she enjoyed the climate of Las Vegas though, and said that she missed the heat while she was living in Washington. Now that she’s back, she’s ready to work harder than ever to provide for her family and create a better future for herself than she ever imagined possible growing up.
